Gujarati Pre-Wedding Pithi and Graha Shanti at India Society Worcester
Ashka’s pre-wedding celebrations began in full color and warmth at the Indian Society of Worcester—a place that beautifully reflected the spirit of her Gujarati traditions.
The space was thoughtfully decorated with bright marigolds, rich fabrics, and a festive seating setup that instantly felt inviting. Every detail added to the joy of the pre-wedding cermonies, where family and friends filled the room with music, dancing, and love.
Ashka and her parents took part in the Grah Shanti puja, a peaceful prayer ceremony meant to bring balance and blessings to her marriage journey. This was followed by the Pithi ceremony—a ritual similar to haldi, where turmeric is gently applied to the bride to purify and brighten her before the big day. It was playful, loving, and full of smiles from everyone involved.
Capturing these intimate, cultural moments is what I love most. These events aren't just traditions—they're the memories that bring generations together, and I’m grateful to have preserved them for Ashka and her family.
